A playable demo ofOrion’s End is now available. This space trading life sim has players not only trade but also smuggle items. They can even go pirate hunting or become pirates themselves. It's all up to them whether they want to be a hero or rogue.

Those interested to try the demo can download from Steam and itch.io. In a statement, Solo developer Dave Stein of Southfog Games revealed that a Linux demo is releasing in the future.

Aside from the release of the demo, a trailer for Orion’s End has also been launched which can be viewed here.

A Space Adventure

Orion’s End is a space adventure life sim that focuses on adventure, exploration, and forging friendships amongst the stars. The game puts players on the role of some who finally became a captain of a small space freighter after dreaming for years of travelling the spacelanes. They now have the chance to build their fortune as a law-abiding trader or courier.

It's not going to be easy since they'll also need upgrades on their new ship. Since this is going to cost, players may need to clean up the star systems by hunting pirates and reap the bounties available. Then there's the choice to step outside the law and try smuggling goods or even be a pirate.

Explore Planets

While players serve as the captain of their own ship, it’s not all about spending time in space. That’s because there are planets to explore where each one has their own residents. Residents that can do the jobs for them or even make friends with. There are some that may have skills that can complement their own.

Activities Available

Whether they're on board space stations or on planets, players can buy and sell commodities. They can also refuel, repair, or upgrade their ship. That's not all there is to it. That's because there are a lot of residents and each of them offer their own stories waiting to be explored. Players can talk to them, give them gifts, or even complete quests for them. All of these different activities can progress, or maybe regress, their relationships with the characters.
