Nine Dots Studio announced that Lost in Prayer is launching on Steam Early Access this July 15. It's a game where anything that kills you becomes playable.

This tactical turn-based Roguelike has players need to use masterful combos if they want to survive. When they die, they get to unlock the creature that killed them for future runs. A demo of the game is currently available on Steam and features the first three levels in Hell and Heaven. The demo also features 26 playable characters.

Early Access

For early access of Lost in Prayer, you can look forward to five levels of both Hell and Heaven. This version has 30 playable characters. In addition, there's tons of loot and hundreds of items to equip. Of course, you can also enjoy hundreds of hours of playtime to master and unlock all characters.

In a statement, Nine Dots CEO and Creative Director Guillaume Boucher-Vidal shared that they would never risk more than one million dollars on a "super niche subgenre just for fun." He added that he's always been in love with traditional roguelikes for at least a decade. He went on to say he's lamented on how so few players get to appreciate gems that's within the genre as a result of their rough presentation and steep learning curves.

Guillaume Boucher-Vidal revealed that this game had to exist where or not it ended up profitable.

Play as Your Killer

For Lost in Prayer, players are tempted whether they want to die on purpose in a successful run to unlock the enemy they faced. With dozens of playable characters, there’s a high chance that you can find your favorite playstyle. You can play to its strengths or maybe go beyond Hell or even above Heaven.

Overall, if you’re tired of dying in one route, you can try your luck and skills with the other. No matter the path you choose, each floor challenges you more than the last. Victory is going to be a hell of a challenge.
