Nice Day for Fishing Has a Fisherman Try to Save the World

What happens when a game world loses all players? The task of saving the world falls squarely on the humble fisherman Baelin. Get to experience his story when Nice Day for Fishing comes out on May 30. It’s going to be available for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation and the Nintendo Switch.

The game follows the story of the heroes Azerim who one day mysteriously vanish. Making things worse is that an evil force is now threatening to take over the lands. It's up to the fisherman Baelin to rise up as he realizes that he's no longer a regular NPC but may in fact now be an adventurer.

Unlike other adventures, this one has Bealin do what he does best and that’s fishing. However, he can upgrade abilities and even use magic spells.

Epic NPC Man

The game is based on a sketch by Viva La Dirt League, a group of professional sketch comedy YouTubers hailing from New Zealand. Titled as Epic NPC man, it takes places in Azerim and initially focuses on the NPC garlic farmer Greg and his perspective on what's happening in the village of Honeywood. Over time other characters are introduced with one of them being Baelin.

An Adventure

Nice Day for Fishing isn't the first time Baelin has been in other media. Back in 2021, the group released the short film Baelin's Route: An Epic NPC Man Adventure after a successful Kickstarter. It tells the story of Baelin whose typical route from his home to the fishing spot is suddenly interrupted by a player.
